Being a senior student in Year 11 at Mackillop
College, Tegan was weighing up her options for what she might do
after she finished Year 12.
Tegan’s first priority however was to obtain
her driving licence so she did not have to rely on her parents driving
her to soccer training and matches, school, work, and to and from
her friends houses so in her spare time she would be seen with her
Dad learning to drive around the streets of Hume or Macarthur. Having
had cycling road and velodrome coaching, Tegan was quickly gaining
her skills and confidence on 4 wheels, so much so that she had to
be told on more than one occasion to slow down as the road was not
a race track or criterium circuit!
Tegan had a bright future and was considering several
careers to pursue when she left school. She was thinking about going
to University to study Physiotherapy and selected some of her school
subjects to help her into this field. As a backup she was considering
a career involving sport like a sports massage therapist, sports
administrator or personal fitness trainer. Tegan was this year enjoying
and achieving high grades in Photography and Psychology so being
a Photographer or Psychologist were also options for her.
Tegan, not having travelled overseas before had
an objective of sometime in the future visiting her relatives on
the Isle of Wight and in mainland England as well as friends she
had met from Sweden and Austria. Her grandmother would often say
to Tegan that she could accompany her on her next visit, an offer
that she thought would be too good to refuse.
