Gentle Angel
The White Dove is a Powerful symbol of Love,
Guidance,
Hope and Peace.
We release these 18 doves today
They will rise up above us then quietly fly
away
They will carry our love and happy memories
up high
to our sweet angel watching over us from the
sky.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Feathers will whisper in your ear
I am here, forever near
Don’t lie awake in the night and cry
Instead look upwards toward the sky
Look for my star
Sing me a song and feel the wind
As it blows past your cheek
That is me, I am not asleep
Look up when a flock of birds fly by
I’m riding their wings in the sky
Believe we will meet again, far above
I go on the wings of a dove
Until you come , ill wait with love
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
May the flight of these 18 doves remain in
our hearts forever
A Tribute to Tegan – An Inspiration
Dearest Tegan my precious niece
It’s now been twelve months since
you went away, it still feels like yesterday that I saw
your happy smiling face walking into Nana’s kitchen.
Your smile was full of mischief as you tried to hide the
balloon you were going to fill so you could throw it at
your latest victim.
I remember when you decided you liked my
big doll whom I called Suzanne, your heart was set on owning
her and no matter how much we told you that it wouldn’t
fit in the car to go to Canberra you had other idea’s.
Sure enough, on the day you were due to leave for Canberra,
Suzanne went with you, and there you were smiling at me
in triumph. That is a memory I think about often.
I talk to Nana everyday on the phone and
the conversation never fails to bring up your name. Nana
remembers how you were always able to restore order with
the little cousins and how your laughter went right through
the house making it into a home.
I have watched your cousin Amy struggle
with the last year, it’s been so hard for everybody.
Everything Amy does, she does for you Tegan. I am sure you
were laughing when she took on her art teacher late last
year, because he wanted her to do a portrait in three colours
but Amy decided two colours were enough, green and purple.
I was called to the school because of the stand off. There
was no stopping Amy no matter how much reason we threw at
her, but Amy then told the teacher why she wanted just the
two colours and he backed down. The portrait won a prize!
I know you were one of the first to know
about Melissa’s pregnancy, she told you on MSN, by
the time she had finished telling you, you had already thought
of babies names. I know you kept Melissa and Baby safe through
the delivery and I thank you everyday.
I frequently read the guestbook and I thank
God everyday that in life you had so many wonderful friends,
that your life was one of the truly beautiful ones. You
are an inspiration to so many people. Everyday I look at
your photo and it keeps me going. I want to make you proud,
so I pledge to make my children smile everyday in your memory.
I will become a happier person.
Teegs, I know you are never far away and
that you are watching from up there. I know you are laughing
at us when we muck up, I know you are offering your hand
when we are down. Thank you for being my niece. Love you Long Time Teegs
Phil Brezigar, a cousin of Teegs in Gladstone
and currently ranked number 2 in Australia for his age group
in BMX has given up his racing sponsorship in preference
to being able to wear a racing jersey he has had made up
in memory and honour of Teegs. Thanks Krystal for the photos.
Thanks to Terez from the Mustangz Netball Club for presenting
me with their 2008 yearbook of which the following about
Teegs was included. These tributes were actually part of
a speech read by Terez prior to one of their Netball games
in June, a game which they won for Teegs..........Chris

On An Angels Birthday
It's been a hard 6 months without you,
It's never easy to face each day,
And I haven't stopped thinking of you,
Since you slipped away.
Today I made a special tribute
to you,
On this day you turn Seventeen,
You left our arms but not our hearts,
On the Sunday you were taken away from me.
I've remembered all the good times,
What once was happy now seems sad,
Through the years I spent with you,
Were the best I have ever had.
I've realized the true meaning
of friendship,
And how much you meant to me,
I hope that no one has to feel this feeling,
That is hurting deep inside of me.
The bond that we once shared,
Is one that will never break,
Although being here without you,
Has been more than I can take.
But I just want you to know Teegie,
That you're forever in my heart,
And I'll keep carrying you with me,
As long as we're apart.
Happy Birthday Dear Tegan, Happy
Birthday to You
The following original instrumental was
composed by a sporting team mate of Teegs who was inspired
to write it by the amount of drive, enthusiasm and energy
Teegs demonstrated while playing sport and in conversations
they had when they first met. This amazing and beautiful piece
is titled ‘Drive’ and was performed
at a recent dance/ballet concert in Canberra. Click here
to listen and by minimising the clicked screen you will still
be able to navigate Tegan's Place.
Chelsea
came up with the idea of wanting to write a song about her
big sister Teegs so courageously set about writing the lyrics
unassisted and then asked her school band teacher if he could
put the music notes to her lyrics based on the tune she had
in her head. Chelsea then recorded the song. It is entitled
'Stepping Stones to Heaven' and can be listened
to by clicking here
The following poem was written on behalf of
everyone who is still missing Teegs.
Ode to Teegs
You used to show us the way
You were our guiding light
You always knew what to say
During the day and the night
Our emotions are running deep
It’s painful without you
We now find it hard to sleep
Not knowing what to do
We wish you were here
Just to hold us tight
But instead we’re shedding a tear
It just doesn’t seem right
We miss your voice and smile
We miss your humour and gentleness
It’s now been quite a while
And we’re still left with emptiness
Some day we’ll meet once
more
And that is surely true
For you are the one we adore
Teegs we’ll always love you
The following words were written by a person who wished to remain
anonymous. It was written after reading the guestbook.
Who Else
Who will catch us when we fall
Where you sat is now an empty space
Who will feed us when we are hungry
Your sandwiches were so great
Who else to guide us
Who else to make us smile
I wish we could all join hands
I know it would stretch for miles
Now you are a shining light
Brightening our paths
A sun ray to warm us in winter
A cooling breeze on a summers day
Who else...
The following contribution was received by
Lynda from Queensland and was inspired by a recent dream involving
Teegs: "I dreamed I was sitting up in bed crying, Teegs
appeared wearing jeans and a white t-shirt with 3 stars on
it. She wiped the tears from my face and smiled. She told
me its never goodbye then I saw her sitting under this beautiful
tree, she was smiling"
Never Goodbye
Even though you are gone
I refuse to say goodbye
I know you are here… somewhere
Through my tears and silent screams
I feel your spirit and see your smile
It’s never goodbye
I know you are there
I know that you care
I know that you say
Our tears are for us and that you are free
I refuse to say goodbye I know that you are here … somewhere
